3 Tyre Pressure Warnings Tips: Skoda Octavia Advice

The Skoda Octavia is an excellent family car that has an impressive suite of safety features. One of these is an accurate tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that will give you feedback on the current state of your tyres. This is displayed clearly on your driver's screen and how the icon acts is an indication of the problem. The icon may remain constant or blink depending upon the tyre pressure conditions. Here are three tyre pressure tips that will help you to understand how the TPMS works.
  1. The Light is Constantly Illuminated

If the TPMS light comes on and then stays on this is a sure sign that at least one of the tyres on your car is at a low pressure level. The tyre pressures should be checked as soon as possible to identify which tyre or tyres are affected. It’s important to use a tyre pressure gauge for this task, the tyres may look normal, but one or more of them could still be deflated. Most petrol stations have a tyre pressure gauge, and the required tyre pressures can be found on a placard or in the owner’s manual. Once you’ve identified the affected tyre or tyres you can then try to establish why the pressure loss occurred.
  1. Investigation the Affected Tyre

The cause may not be initially apparent, and if there is no rapid air loss, there may have been a gradual air loss at some point. The tyre pressure should be restored to the pressure listed in the owner’s manual, and you will need to keep an eye on it. The TPMS will inform you if the problem occurs again and then you will need some expert advice. If the tyre is obviously flat, there is probably a puncture, and the tyre may need to be replaced.
  1. A Flashing Light

If the TPMS warning light comes on and then goes off again, this could be a sign that your tyres are changing temperature. When the air in the tyre is heated up, it expands and consequently the tyre pressure increases. So, the pressure could be low as you start your journey, the warning light will then come on and as your tyre heats up the light will go off again. This should be treated as an early indicator that the tyre pressure needs to be adjusted to the correct level.

2019 Skoda Kodiaq RS Sketches Released

The Skoda Kodiaq has been a welcome addition to the Australian car market since its recent release, and Skoda is showing no signs of resting on their laurels. Plans are always in the works, and it’s always exciting when you get a hint about upcoming models. Recently, Skoda released a series of sketches related to their 2019 Kodiaq RS model, and the images are startling. Of course, concept sketches often set the pulse racing, and the actual production car doesn’t match the hype. However, in the past, Skoda has delivered cars that are very close to early concepts, and this may be the case here. Let’s take a closer look at what we know about the 2019 Karoq RS.

Teasers Before the Reveal

The latest images are just the latest in a series of teaser images that have been released ahead of the full reveal. This is set to take place early next month at The Paris Motor Show, and expectations are running high. There are tantalising glimpses of the super stylish exterior and some additional drawings of the interior. It’s important to realise that these are all drawings and there are no photographs available at this time. However, the Czech car manufacturer has released a few of the mechanical details that we will explore below.

Speculations on Specifications

When you look at the drawings, the first thing that many people will spot is the larger wheels. These are 20” alloy wheels with a very distinctive design that features five annular apertures. The window frames, mirrors, and grille will all be finished in black. The new Kodiaq RS will also have RS badging, but the chrome V will be replaced with a red V that signifies victory. Skoda has confirmed that the released sketches are a little overblown and the production car will be a little toned down. However, the design is extremely dramatic and even toning it down slightly will result in a fantastic looking car.

Some of the Key Highlights

Skoda has released some solid details on what we can expect from the new Karoq RS when it’s released. Some of the key highlights include features, such as a brand new rear bumper design with twin tailpipe outlets, a reflector that spans the entire width of the car, 17” disc brakes with red calipers and a metallic Race Blue colour option. The engine is a VW Group 2.0L turbo diesel that generates 176 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque.
